The sisterships were designed to have as "standard" the "megayacht cruising" industry's first mini-subs, helicopters and ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles).

The most luxurious of Serenity's 377 suites is the 1,275-square-foot Crystal Penthouse. The bathroom — with a full peachflower marble tub — is exquisite, as is the plentiful balcony space. And while most guests get only one reservation at each of the specialty restaurants, Umi Uma and Osteria d’Ovidio, reservations for the penthouse guests are unlimited, and they can order from both directly to their room. At the end of 2015, Crystal AirCruises announced planned purchase of two more aircraft - Airbus ACJ319 (corporate jet with removable extra fuel tanks) and Bombardier Global Express XRS (Canada-manufactured ultra-long-range business jet).
Dining is a little different on Crystal Cruises because everything is included. There are 3 specialty restaurants across the fleet and each guest is entitled to dine at each of these once or twice per cruise (depending on cruise length) at no extra cost. All beverages in the restaurants, including alcohol, are included as well. This all-inclusive cruise line doesn’t have a large fleet, but what they do have focuses on total luxury and intimate, small ship sailings. While children and teens are welcome on all sailings, onboard programming geared to junior cruisers is only offered on select itineraries, primarily during the summer months and holiday and spring break periods. The sailings are seven nights in length, which makes them among the shortest sailings on Crystal's schedule.
But an opportunity arose and here I am, breaking the glass ceiling and offering something new under the new management as Crystal’s first female Cruise Director. The effect of joining a long cruise mid-stream is that of being a new kid in town – only more popular. Passengers were curious about my friend and I, and as newbies, we received numerous dinner and trivia invites.
One of the things I love about Crystal is the creativity that's offered to guests – take the art classes for example. They get very full, but no one needs to be a Picasso or a Van Gogh to attend. Guests come along and the classes become a real social gathering spot onboard, which of course leads to friendships being made.
Now, new leadership has revived the line and aims to make it better than ever. The second yacht - Crystal Endeavor was sold to RCG-Royal Caribbean Group and transferred to Silversea in July 2022. Guests will have a unique opportunity to explore Longyearbyen in Svalbard Norway, known for its stunning Northern Lights displays. After concluding the World Cruise in May 2025, Crystal Serenity departs from Marseille and cruises the Mediterranean and Baltic Seas, visiting places like Malaga (Pablo Picasso's hometown), the picturesque Ronne, Latvia's capital Riga, and more.
